Hello everyone, and welcome.
For those who don’t know me yet, I’m a lifelong resident of Great Yarmouth. I was educated locally, including at the former Boys’ Great Yarmouth Grammar School, and my working life began with a small shipping company on the River Yare. From those early days, my career took me around the world, with senior leadership roles in major energy hubs including Houston, Dubai, and Aberdeen.
Over several decades I have served in senior management and Managing Director positions across energy, waste, logistics, and fuel supply chain businesses. I’ve had the privilege of leading large teams of more than 1,000 people and overseeing businesses with revenues of many hundreds of millions of pounds. Throughout that time, my focus has always been the same: strong leadership, transparency, teamwork, and delivering results.
That is why I am supporting Rupert Lowe and standing as a candidate for Great Yarmouth First at this exciting moment of political change. I believe Rupert is someone who says what he means and does what he says — something people across the country are rightly demanding from their representatives.
Great Yarmouth has enormous potential. With the right leadership, the right priorities, and people who genuinely care about the future of our town, I believe we can put the “Great” back into Great Yarmouth. My Priorities
Tackling Anti-social Behaviour
I will bring together residents, the police and local authorities to address anti-social behaviour wherever it affects our community
Expanding Life Saving Defibrillator Access
I will lead a drive to double the number of defibrillators in our villages from today’s low of 20 to over 40 in the next 3 years
Reducing pollution in our rivers and sea
I will lobby Anglian water for urgent on going investment to fix our aging sewerage system especially in Caister which suffered over 100 spills lasting more than 560 hours during the last three years
Tackling Waste and Recycling Failure
For 14 years Great Yarmouth Borough has had the lowest recycling rate in Norfolk. That must change and I will work with the residents and council on various initiatives to improve this
Protecting and Enhancing Essential Services
I will ensure that essential public services, especially NHS dentistry are designed into the planning process to meet the inevitable housing expansion and population growth over the next decade
